Saturday Night Genealogy Fun - Ahnentafel Roulette

This week's edition of Saturday Night Genealogy Fun has been posted by Randy Seaver of Genea-Musings:It's Saturday Night - time for some Genealogy Fun (even though I'm stuck in Santa Cruz without Internet access).

Here is your assignment if you choose to play along (cue the Mission Impossible music, please!):

1) How old is your father now, or how old would he be if he had lived? Divide this number by 4 and round the number off to a whole number. This is your "roulette number."

2) Use your pedigree charts or your family tree genealogy software program to find the person with that number in your ahnentafel. Who is that person?

3) Tell us three facts about that person with the "roulette number."

4) Write about it in a blog post on your own blog, in a Facebook note or comment, or as a comment on this blog post.

5) If you do not have a person's name for your "roulette number" then spin the wheel again - pick your mother, or yourself, a favorite aunt or cousin, or even your children!

1. My dad was born in 1946...so that makes him 63. Divide that by 4 and get 15.75 rounded off is 16. So 16 is my roulette number. LOL

2. Well I am not sure yet. This side is my elusive side. The Woerner's have been hard to track...

5. Ok let's decide.....a number.... to do the ahnentafel roulette game....waiting for anyone on facebook to give me a random number..think I will ask Raul instead. He said number 13...
3) Tell us three facts about that person with the "roulette number."

This person is Blanche Grace Douglass, she is my great grandmother, mother to my grandfather on my mother's side.
1. She was born in Sevierville, Sevier, TN on 24 December 1891.
2. She is listed in both the 1910 and 1920 Census in Knox County ,TN
3. Her parents are Isham L. Douglass and Mary Elizabeth Hardin
